Core Therapy Services

SafeGround Psychology provides a therapeutic space that feels secure and non-judgemental, where you can be supported and understood by your therapist.

SafeGround offers a secure foundation for exploring personal challenges and navigating life’s obstacles. This is a space where openness about internal experiences is encouraged, free from fear or judgment. Every experience shared here is treated with compassion, empathy, and understanding.

Individual Therapy

At SafeGround Psychology we recognise that life can be difficult to navigate and many of us can turn to strategies for alleviation and escape from painful or unwanted thoughts, feelings, sensations or memories, to cope. Perhaps these strategies have enabled us to survive or tolerate difficult experiences, but you may start to recognise how they are causing other problems in your life, perhaps with friends, relationships, work, parenting, finances or in some other way.

At SafeGround Psychology we take a compassionate approach to understanding how we all have come to develop these ways of protecting ourselves, whilst also seeking to help you develop other tools and strategies to deal with these difficulties.

Individual therapy sessions will help you to explore and understand the difficulties you face. It will support you to develop deeper insights and teach you new skills and ways of relating to reduce suffering.

Who I work with

At SafeGround Psychology, I work with adults (aged 18 and over) facing a diverse range of challenges. Whether you're dealing with intense and complex emotions, navigating difficult life circumstances, managing troubling thoughts or interests, or struggling with addictive or problematic behaviours, I’m here to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where all parts of you are welcome.

Areas of Speciality

Paedophilia and Minor Attraction

I provide confidential therapy with individuals to explore their thoughts and feelings around their attraction. Therapy will be tailored to where you are in this journey. Perhaps this is something you have recently discovered about yourself and are struggling to come to terms with. Or perhaps you have known this for a long time and have had to keep it secret from others, possibly leading to feelings of isolation, loneliness, and shame. Wherever you are, SafeGround Psychology can come alongside you and help you to make sense of this part of you and to live a life that feels meaningful and authentic.

Concerns with sexual thoughts, behaviours, attractions or urges

At SafeGround Psychology we as also support those dealing with other challenging sexual thoughts, behaviours, attractions, or urges. This might include problematic or addictive pornography use, unwanted attractions or interests, addiction to sex or preoccupation with sex. At SafeGround Psychology, I offer a compassionate, confidential space for exploring these issues without judgment, supporting clients in understanding and managing their thoughts and behaviours in healthy, constructive ways. My goal is to help you navigate these complexities with care, respect, and to provide effective strategies for positive change.

Individuals who are under investigation for or have convictions for online sexual offending

Have you been arrested and are being investigated by the Police for online sexual offending? Are you struggling with the fallout from “The Knock” and its impact on your life and those around you? Perhaps you would like to understand how you have engaged in a behaviour that has caused harm to others and has such severe consequences for you and people you care about. SafeGround Psychology have a wealth of experience in this area; supporting and guiding individuals through the investigation process (whatever the outcome). We can utilise therapy sessions to collaboratively explore and understand the factors that led to the behaviour. This will help to develop understanding, skills and strategies to meet your needs in a way that does not cause harm to yourself and others in the future.

Support for families, partners, or friends.

Perhaps there is someone close to you that has disclosed an attraction to young people, or perhaps they are being investigated for offending online. It is possible you will have many conflicting thoughts and feelings about this person’s behaviour and are struggling to understand and to know what to do. At SafeGround Psychology, we can offer a space in which you can process, safely and without judgement, all those complicated and conflicting feelings to help you try and make sense of them. We can help you to navigate the situation, take care of yourself and support others.
